Underwater World

Underwater World, one of the attractions on Sentosa, is closing for good at the end of the month.  (Apparently there was too much competition from the other aquarium on the island, plus some bad press about their "swim with dolphins" attraction.)

So, of course I had to go check it out.  It's a pretty small place, but the main attraction (now that the dolphins have been moved to an aquarium in China) is the underwater tunnel -- which actually was really cool.  You have the option to walk through or stand on a moving walkway, and the fish are swimming all around and above you.  They have some impressive rays and sharks, and it was pretty amazing to see them just overhead!

I also was there for Underwater Santa feeding the fish.  (Now I have truly lived.)  Actually, it's a bit disconcerting to see Santa with a big scuba mask on.  :)

(And speaking of disconcerting, the Japanese spider crabs are the stuff of nightmares...)
