Fukuoka

 Yesterday afternoon I took a little break from the conference to do some sightseeing.  I went to the botanical garden, and then walked around the outside of a shrine -- both very pretty!  Then I walked around the castle ruins (not too much left) and found another beautiful park, with duck (or maybe swan?) boats!  (I did not take a ride!)

It was fun to see the schoolchildren in their uniforms riding their bikes along the street -- just like in the Japanese comics!  :)
