Park Exploration

We explored another new park this weekend -- Royalton Ravine.  It reminded us a bit of Cedar Falls park back in North Carolina. After the big field, there were some nice trails and a bouncy suspension bridge.  Apparently there is also a waterfall, but we didn't go that far -- since we haven't had much rain recently, some other park visitors told us there also wasn't much of a waterfall right now.

Sunflowers

The other day we went to visit a farm called the Sunflowers of Sanborn, which is of course made for photo opportunities.  :)  It was a gorgeous day and not too crowded -- the kids were a bit grumpy at first, but after some food everyone perked up.  The kids enjoyed the "sifting for (fake) gems" activity, and we also cut a couple of sunflowers to take home -- Matthew found both an orange one and a huge yellow one!

Trim #3

Matthew is delighted to have his hair out of his face again!  It's short enough on the sides that it looks a bit like Grandpa Walt's Marine haircut. :)

Backyard Fun

The slide was a big hit with our friends' toddler!  :)

Little Falls

We can't go much of anywhere this summer, which is a bit depressing, but we did make it out to Akron Falls park for a bit.  It's a really nice place with a creek and some trails -- it's relatively big, but we just walked around a small part of it and dipped our feet in the refreshing water. :)

James got new hearing aids recently, and his audiologist gave us a remote microphone device (a Roger device). This was super nice of her because usually they are very expensive, but another client had given it to her because he couldn't use it.  It turned out to be awesome at the park because James could hear us (well, whoever was holding it) at a distance with it, even over the sound of the running water!

Puppy Trim

Elsa finally went back to the groomers!  PetSmart was booked up for weeks, so we tried a new place just down the road from us.  They did a great job, and Elsa came back with pink bows in her ears, a pink bow on her collar, and her disco-pink bandanna!  I guess they really wanted to make her feel like a princess.  :)
Mike asked about doggie day care there, and it turns out they don't let the dogs play with each other, but it's more like a dog spa -- they can sit in front of a fireplace, watch TV, get massages, and drink "pup-tinis."  (Mike said he would just dress up in a dog suit and go hang out there...)
