Ichetucknee

When we were down in Florida in August, we went tubing on the Itchetucknee for the first time in a very long time!  We ended up having nice weather for it, and it wasn't too crowded. The kids enjoyed it so much that we did a second trip down (except for James and Grandma).  The northern part of the river is closed off now, so everyone starts at the midpoint and you can go either to Dampier's Landing or to the south takeout point (which we did).  It was very beautiful!  We saw some turtles and birds, fortunately no snakes or gators. :)

Sculpture Garden

Back in August, we went to the Griffis Sculpture Park down near Ellicottville.  It was a lot of walking (and somewhat hot), but a lot of fun!  Climbing on the sculptures was allowed, and James took full advantage. :)  And for the record, we did tell Matthew repeatedly that he could take off his mask (he had just gotten over covid), but he was stubborn. :)

Color update

The former guest room is now Matthew's room, and he picked out a new paint color for it.  (It's all painted now and it looks great!)

Bowling

The Coder School had a bowling celebration for the people who had helped out with the summer camps -- Matthew had a fun time!  (Apparently the bowling alley did renovations somewhat recently -- it's quite nice and fancy now!)

Here are some pictures from when we first moved to Buffalo.  My how time flies.

8th Grade!

Well, it has been a long time since we posted something.  We'll try to do a better job of updating the blog.

Last week was the first day of 8th grade.  The kids generally like school, so don't let the glum expressions throw you off.

Alice Cooper

UB had rock star Alice Cooper and his manager Shep give a talk, and Mike and I went.  It was really fun to hear about all of their adventures (and Shep's gift for publicity stunts! For example, he paid a truck driver with a big ad for their show on his truck to "break down" in London's traffic, so it would be featured on all the morning traffic reports!)
