Dinner of Elegance

The night we arrived, Walt and Georgia had tickets for Mike and me to go to the "Dinner of Elegance." It was held in the church basement, but it was related to the Vinegar Museum -- every course had vinegar as an ingredient (from the dill pickle soup which was much better than it sounds to the dessert drizzled with balsamic). The best dish in my opinion was the carrots with an orange vinegar glaze.

It was a great meal and a fun event -- we sat next to some very friendly people who we'd never met before. And Lawrence Diggs, the founder of the Vinegar Museum, not only attended but sang two songs!  Truly a man of many talents!  (I'm not being sarcastic -- he really is an impressive person, not least for his people skills.)

We were hoping that the kids might be asleep when we got home, but as we were walking down the street toward the house, I saw a flash of toddler disappearing behind the house -- yep, they were still out running Grandma and Grandpa around!  (We had picked up a big orange bouncy ball on the way home, and James apparently kicked it all over town.)
