Sss-success

We've been excited about all James's new words, but starting to get a little concerned that he wasn't saying any "s" or "sh" sounds, despite lots of repetition of them from us.  Today in his hearing therapy session, though, he did it!  (At least the "s" part.)  His therapist brought some whistles for him to play with to encourage blowing, since "s" sounds involve pushing breath out.  Maybe that did the trick, or maybe he was just ready, but either way, we were all happy!  (Mattie may have helped, too, because he was very interested in the therapist's toy snake, and carried it around saying "sssss" for about 20 minutes of the time she was here.)  Jamesie also did an "f" sound for us, though not really connected to a recognizable word.  Yay, James!

Jamesie's new words for today were "wheel" (for their wagon wheel snacks) and "chair."

Mattie, meanwhile, made Mommy very happy by spontaneously saying "thank you" when I gave him his bottle!  Yay, Mattie!
