Endoclip, Attempt Number 2

James's new GI doctor wanted to try again with closing James's g-tube hole with the endoclip (just what it sounds like, a little clip that is placed endoscopically; it's supposed to help the tissue heal together and close the opening). So on the 7th we went out to the hospital in Batavia, which turned out to be very nice. It was supposed to be only a "ten minute" procedure, but of course, it was more complicated than the doctor expected and it ended up taking closer to an hour (some of the old endoclips from the previous procedure were still there -- they're supposed to drop off after a week or two -- and had developed some kind of gunk around them, so he had to pull those out first).

James was somewhat grumpy after the anesthesia, but since he didn't have an IV in his hand, it was better than previous times. :)  He was fully recovered and back to himself by the afternoon.

Unfortunately, he had a little liquid leaking from the hole the other day, so we think the procedure once again didn't work. :(  We're disappointed -- it would have been nice to have this taken care of -- but we'll see what the next step is at our follow-up appointment.
