Afternoon along the Niagara

We had intended to go to Touch a Truck in Niagara Falls after the art festival, but it ended a bit sooner than we thought, so we missed it.  But no one was too disappointed.  Instead, we had lunch in a restaurant right by the river -- lovely views!  The boys also liked playing nearby, including "rock climbing" on the Freedom Monument.  (It turns out Lewiston was one of the final stops on the Underground Railroad -- escaping slaves could go by boat over to Canada to freedom.)

After lunch we went to the Devil's Hole overlook (right past the power station) and then the Whirlpool overlook.  (On the other side of the Whirlpool park, there's a gondola that takes people over the river -- Mike and the boys thought it would be cool to go someday, but I have no interest in dangling from some cables high over the rapids!)
