Video from Surgery Day

This is from Friday morning, before James went to the OR. He was slightly sedated and on the ventilator. Melanie is giving James some confidence and comfort before going to surgery. It must have worked!

I am so happy that James was doing well yesterday. Leo is on his way to Rex as I type this. I will check your site daily to keep tabs on your two boys. As always, they are in my prayers daily.

Thanks, John! We hope everything went smoothly with Leo's transfer, and that he gets to go home very soon. All best wishes to you and your family!

Mike & Melanie: Leo is having a hard time with the move. His body temp is going crazy. He was transported with no clothing or blankets so his body temp was down to 97, tonight at 11:30 it was up to 101 which is causing his heart and breathing to be higher than I am used to seeing at UNC. I am a little nervous. I do miss the nurses and doctors at UNC. I think Leo misses them even more. Rex is great, it will take time getting adjusted. Not being able to look over and see other parents is hard because I do feel like Leo is all alone when I am not around. It’s amazing how seeing you guys everyday for two weeks and now not seeing anyone because Leo is a room alone is a very lonely feeling. I am going to bed, so I can get up and go back early in the am. Don't forget, what I said about God spending more time at the NICU at UNC than at the Vatican. I believe it! I hope the fluid retention fixes itself tonight. I'll check on your boys here tomorrow.JT

John -- We hope Leo has found his equilibrium today. No one knows better than you (and us) how there is never a dull moment with these children. Would they allow you to bring in a sound machine or radio into Leo's room so he has something to listen to while you're away?

Good luck! Thanks for the comment.
