En Route to the Rainforest

Sugar cane fields
On our last full day in Cairns, we did a rainforest tour.  The rainforest is a bit of a drive from Cairns, but it was scenic (despite the less-than-ideal weather).  We had a quick bathroom stop in the town of Babinda, which has the dubious distinction of being the rainiest town in Australia.  If you look closely at the picture of the post office, you can see their "Golden Rain Boot." (There was also a golden umbrella -- their nickname is "Umbrella Town" -- but I'm not sure that's visible in the photo.)
