Niagara

We had a great time visiting with Aunt Ann, Uncle Dave, and Cousin Chris this weekend.  Yesterday, we went to Niagara Falls (Dave's first time).  The trip did not get off to a promising start -- it was grey, cold, and drizzling, and the drizzle turned into rain by the time we arrived!  (We figured at least it wouldn't be crowded, but no, it was the Niagara Blues festival, so there were lots of people there as well.) And of course we didn't bring our umbrellas or ponchos!  We decided to make the best of it and ride the trolley first, and lucky us, by the time we were back at the Maid of the Mist stop, some blue skies were starting to peek out from the clouds.  It turned out to be perfect timing.  We didn't have to wait for the boat, and the views were gorgeous! We didn't do the other activities since everyone was getting hungry (well, except of course Matthew wanted to stop in the gift shop -- he picked out a Maid of the Mist pillow), but it turned out to be a great afternoon.

And just maybe we could have has Matthew forget about the gift shop but they are sooooo clever in making the exit for the Maid of the Mist right through the gift shop!
