The Christmas Express

Before we went to Colorado, we went to the Christmas Express in Williston.  It's a new event.  The family actually found this historic train engine in the woods and restored it, and they're trying to develop their farm as an educational farm/youth ministry.

For the first year, it was pretty good!  The train itself was cool, and they had a lot of neat light displays along the route.  The only problem was that there was a long wait to get on the train.  The tickets were "general admission" and the train left every half hour.  I think we waited at least an hour, which of course is hard with little ones!  James was ready to fall asleep by the end of the ride.  (There was a live nativity and a big screen showing a Charlie Brown Christmas, but not much else to do during the wait -- besides run around in the fields, which lots of kids were doing.)  Hopefully they'll do timed tickets in the future!
