Fire and Ice

The YMCA held a kids' event this year called Fire and Ice (for fireworks and "snow" and ice events).  It was a great idea in theory, but in practice...they sold 5000 tickets, and they had 1) three bounce houses, 2) 1 "hamster wheel" that kids could ride in, 3) two snow slides, and 4) a small snow pit that kids could play in and make snowballs.  Apparently no one did the math, because that meant more than a half-hour wait for the snow slides, over an hour for the hamster wheel, and 20 minutes-plus for a turn in the bouncy house.  Not a great experience!!

They were at least selling the promised light-up toys, so Matthew was happy.  :)  The twins did the bouncy slide and bouncy house, Daniel did the snow slide, and then we headed out!  (Matthew and James were pretty exhausted anyhow from being up late the previous night.)
