Frankfurt

View from our room

Dad and I had a nice time in Frankfurt.  Our hotel room was spacious and had a tiny balcony overlooking the street (first picture). On Saturday night, we found a delicious Indian restaurant just down the street from our hotel.  On Sunday, we took a hop-on, hop-off bus tour which turned out to be largely a waste of time -- the recorded guide was okay but not great, but more importantly, the bus didn't actually stop at the stops unless someone asked (which was hard to do when sitting on the top level!)  It did get us down by the river, though, which was a very nice walk.  Later in the afternoon, we made our way back to the old town, which had some pretty buildings (and lots of people out and about at the cafes).

We caught the train to Gottingen in the evening.  (Unfortunately, we missed our stop -- it turns out they do not stop for long!)  So, we had to catch the next train back a stop, but we made it.
