SingZoo

On our last full day in Singapore (we're home now), we ventured out to the zoo, reputed to be one of the best in the world.  They had a lot of interesting animals there (and of course, Matthew was very excited about the tigers).  I think we would have had an even better time if it hadn't been quite so hot (and for me, if the prices hadn't seemed quite so much like highway robbery), but there were a lot of enjoyable moments.  (I particularly appreciated the air-conditioned polar bear exhibit!)

We got to see several feeding times, including the tigers and the orangutans -- and the boys even got to throw pieces of fruit to the orangutans.

James saw the Happy Wanderers sign and decided he really wanted to see the lemur feeding.  We were all the way at the other end of the zoo before then, so we had a bit of a race to get back in time, but it was worth it -- the boys were able to get really close to the lemurs as they were eating.  (In fact, they probably could have reached out and petted them, but we figured that wasn't a good idea!)

Mike enjoyed the elephant show -- they were very cute!  And of course, Matthew was delighted to get to stop at the gift shop, where he came home with a tiger of his own (and James picked out a polar bear).
