Buffalo Ninja Warrior

Yesterday we went to see the Buffalo Ninja Warrior competition (not one of the official ones for the television show, but one organized by the local ninja gym).  It was really fun!

One of the high points for James was getting to meet Geoff Britten, the First American Ninja Warrior -- the first person to complete all of the obstacles on last season's show.  (Although another contestant then completed the course a couple seconds faster, so poor Geoff didn't get any prize money, which seemed very unfair indeed.  After all, there had been no winners in the previous six seasons, so it's not like the TV network couldn't spare the money.)  James was also excited to meet Jessica Britten (Geoff's wife and fellow ninja).  They were both very nice people!

You can see from some of the pictures that James chose a spot to watch the competition where he could hang out with his new best friends, the Brittens.  :)

Oh, and some of the people there had "NinJAmes" (ninja James) shirts on -- apparently one or more of the people who work at the gym have the last name James).

Matthew wasn't all that interested in watching the ninjas, so he and Mike walked around downtown a bit, and discovered some fun things (a nice cafe; the oldest veterinary clinic in New York).
