To the Gym

In addition to their first day of school, the boys also had their first gymnastics lesson on Tuesday.  It's a different gym than the gymnastics camp one.  And it's clearly very popular -- the entrance area was kind of a madhouse with everyone coming in and out (and apparently it's this crowded even after a recent renovation that substantially enlarged the space -- yikes!)  There were also a lot of boys there (at different levels), which was good to see.

I spoke briefly to the coach before the lesson to let him know about James's hearing aids and feeding tube -- and it turned out his daughter had a feeding tube and did gymnastics, so he knew all about how to deal with it.  Woo-hoo!

For the first day, they just got an introduction to the pommel horse, rings, and trampoline track.  They did pull-ups on the rings, and James did the most of anyone (ten).  He said, "I was tired, but I kept going anyway!"  (That's what champions do, son!)  Matthew even managed two or three pullups, which I thought was great given that he has not been training for American Ninja Warrior.  :)
