Halloween Chez Nous

Despite the less-than-ideal weather (cold-ish and light rain), the boys had fun trick or treating.  They went with their friends who live behind us and a small group of neighborhood kids.  The leaders of the pack were some slightly older girls (age 7-9), and the modus operandi was to dash from house to house at full speed!  (James did not want to be the caboose!)  I was a bit surprised at how many houses in the neighborhood had no one home -- it seems so family oriented.  But the kids came away with a pretty good haul of candy anyhow.

This year one costume was not enough for the boys.  Matthew really wanted to wear the skeleton costume (which Mike had brought home intended to put on one of the scarecrows).  We didn't have anything really for him to wear with it (since, frankly, I didn't really want him to wear it at all -- I don't like "horror movie" type costumes on little kids).  So he wore his tiger costume and went as a tiger skeleton.  Then of course James also wanted to have two costumes, so he went as Scooby Doo Angry Bird.
