We may have mentioned before that the state of North Carolina has a wonderful program that pays for a first pair of hearing aids for babies and children under three. (Hearing aids cost several thousand dollars, so this is a big deal for most families!) So, this is a fantastic thing and we're very grateful for it.
But...
We got the hospital bill in the mail for James's last pair of earmolds, and part of it had been paid by our regular insurance. Another part had been paid by "Crippled Children."
Oh my. Ouch. Don't you think they could find a name that's not stuck back in the 50's??
(And of course, our first reaction was, "he's not crippled!")
