Going on a Tree Hunt
The weather was a bit colder than ideal (27ish), but we braved the Christmas tree farm anyhow. Fortunately they had an indoor area where we could warm up!
We did a hayride out to the tree area, and Matthew located the perfect tree. Mike fulfilled his lifelong dream by chopping (sawing) it down, and it's now beautifying our living room. Matthew got to toast one marshmallow -- we might have done more, but James was too cold, so we caught the hay ride back after that. I'm sure there will be other marshmallow opportunities!
Matthew was also intrigued by the dried corn, and the boys both had fun tossing ice chunks from the sandbox. :)
Lesson learned for next year -- farms are muddy even when it's this cold, so I'll put the boys in their boots next time!
