We took the boys out this afternoon to play in what was left of the snow, but they weren't as excited about it as we thought they might be. I think we were too close to nap time and they were getting tired. Jamesie didn't want to be put down, except for the few moments when he had the chance to grab some gravel and tried to put it in his mouth. Mattie walked around for a bit, but was happy enough to go back inside.
After naptime we ran some errands, and they enjoyed getting to go to the grocery store. (Usually I just go by myself on my way home from work.) We also were going to walk around the mall and see Christmas lights, but by the time we got there all the stores were closed except the pizza place. We walked around a little anyhow, though we had to corral the boys from picking up Santa's fake snow.
And while we were there, not one, but two other parents commented that 18 months was a great age -- we have to agree! :)
Mattie's new words for today: "hello" (when picking up his toy phone) and "beep" for his toy car. (Also "snow", but he may have just been repeating that one.)

That snow is just shocking to me since you live south of me...
