Discovery Days Parade

 We had planned to go to the Reptile Gardens on Saturday, but Matthew wasn't feeling well, and it turned out that there was a parade in downtown Custer (for Gold Discovery Days) -- so we went down there instead.  (Matthew stayed back at the hotel for some rest and special Grandma time -- I think she ended up reading him a lot of Encyclopedia Brown!)  James loved collecting the candy that people threw from the floats (even though he didn't care about the candy itself -- it's the thrill of the chase!)

The cousins were a block or two away from where we ended up, and they had quite a haul of candy as well.  :)
