Mattie had a great night: the morning report was that he finished a whole bottle (38 ml) at two of his feedings last night! We're very proud of him!!
Jamesie is still having some residuals with his feedings, but they're increasing the amount to 5 ml per feeding today. (This is still pretty small; about a teaspooon.) One of the doctors mentioned at rounds the other day that sometimes larger amounts help get the stomach to stretch out and empty the way it's supposed to. I don't know if 5 ml is large enough to do this, but we'll see. Also, I think unless a baby is really not tolerating their feeds at all, they try to keep increasing toward full feeds. Of course, they're keeping a close eye on him, too.

Yep, the bottom picture is James -- he was alert like that for quite a while yesterday! (So cute!!)
Do you realize that your little Mattie does better at the bottle than my little boy ever has? Good job!
