Grandpa got to hold Jamesie today (and Mattie, too!) Both boys enjoyed hanging out with their grandpa.
Mattie continues to do well with his bottles. We were going to try breastfeeding again today (the lactation consultant came in and everything), but of course that was the feeding time that Mattie decided to sleep through, despite our best efforts to wake him up. (I'm sure someday soon I'll wish he always went to sleep that easily!)
He was a bit stinky last night, and the report from his night nurse was that "he had a poop worthy of the gas." She disposed of that particular diaper outside the pod. Hee hee! Then, this afternoon he had perfect timing. Mike changed a diaper at 5; it was clean. At 5:10, nurse T. checked the diaper as she commenced her other tasks. As soon as his delicate little parts hit the air he started extruding the stinky stuff. And he didn't stop for a while. Every time the nurse wiped the area Matthew produced a new glop of poo. It was quite impressive. And, as I said, well- timed from Mike's perspective.
They increased James's feeds to 8 ml this afternoon, and so far, so good. (We are still waiting on some poop from him. He makes faces like he's working on it, so we'll see.)
Another set of twin boys arrived in Pod F yesterday, so now our whole side is twins! They're cuties. (And we were glad to discover that neither of them is named James or Matthew.)

So I was looking at Mattie's head and thinking that it has an unusual shape.... but then I looked at a picture of Mike & imagined him without hair, and all was explained! They are so cute. It's wonderful to see them both doing so well.
