Happy Fourth
Lucky for us, the country club down the street was doing their fireworks again, so we could enjoy the show from the comfort of our own backyard! (And we had some home fireworks from the store when that was done...)
Niagara Gorg-eous
We got our Fourth of July exercise with a walk through the Niagara Gorge -- beautiful but a bit hot! Fortunately, at our next stop, they had a truck serving Hawaiian-style shaved ice. :)

Wilderness, Sort of
Auntie Erin found a nature area near Lockport that looked interesting, so -- once we found it, which was somewhat tricky -- we had a little nature walk. It wasn't a big area (and the beginning of the trail had some poison ivy), but there was a cool creek area where the kids enjoyed playing on the rocks and looking at the little pools. It was a nice way to end the afternoon before heading home!

Bonus Day in Lockport
The South Carolina crew was supposed to leave Saturday morning, but due to flight delays, they ended up being rebooked on evening flights instead. That was a bit of a bummer for them because they got in very late at night, but had the awesome silver lining that we got to spend another day with them, and took a ride out to Lockport. The farmer's market was going on and they were doing a lock demonstration (slow, as usual, and something went a little wrong making it even longer), and of course we had to enjoy some Lake Effect ice cream. :)
