Today we went to Canalside to be part of "Human Buffalove 2" -- an aerial photo of people forming a buffalo-shaped flag (in honor of Flag Day). There were a ton of people there, so I don't think we'll be too visible in the final photo, but we know just where we are -- we were the row of blue right next to the red and white stripes, and we also happened to be right next to the guy dressed as Waldo from Where's Waldo. (Which was especially funny because James and Bettina were doing the Waldo books just yesterday.) It was a lot of fun!
After the photo shoot, they had a band playing and chicken BBQ lunch so that people could continue to hang out through the afternoon, but the rain set in while we were standing in the food line. We found a spot under the overpass and had a little picnic, though.
The event was organized by Patty's People Pictures. Patty is the lady in the orange shirt in the picture halfway down. I don't envy her that organizational task! The pictures were taken from a big bucket crane, and they also had a drone flying overhead which we assume was also taking pictures. We did some with flags waving and then everyone just looking up at the cameras.
When we were waiting in the food line, one of the photographers came around and showed us the picture on his LCD screen -- it looked like it turned out well! I'm excited to see the final version(s).
