The boys were invited to a pottery-painting birthday party. (I admit I was a bit nervous about that -- James likes to knock things over and Mattie doesn't always watch where he's going -- but we escaped with no destruction.) The boys had a really good time, although their painting was more abstract than the rest of the party guests (six-year-old girls). Matthew was especially pleased about his "messy beagle"! James picked a dragon, in case you can't tell from the pictures.

I can't wait to see them fired.
Actually, they don't fire this kind (they used acrylic paints instead of the glaze). I thought they'd look cool fired, too, but the bright side is that at least they got to take them home right away.
