We enjoyed a lunch and wagon ride outing with the boys today! (They liked riding in the wagon, but also enjoyed taking turns pulling it!) They stopped along the way to throw rocks and sand into the creek. :)
James has been moving along with potty training -- he is interested in time right now, so he picks an exact time to sit on the potty ("I'll do it at 3:12") and then watches the digital clock until that minute. He's had some success and I think he's starting to be able to read the signals from his body a bit better. Still quite a ways to go, but we're happy to have some progress!
To encourage him, Mike made him a "potty book" to write down when he tries and when he succeeds. :) Of course, then Matthew wanted a potty book, too, so we made him one. (I told Mike that Mattie had "specific instructions" about how it should look, and so then of course Mattie picked up the phrase "specific instructions.") And then he wanted to have one to take with him on our outing today, but he didn't want to take his regular one. So I made "Matthew's Travel Potty Book", and he was very pleased.
